Polaris P39 Pressure Side Pool Cleaner Review
The market for pool cleaning products is, surprisingly, a big one. It’s filled with scams of all sorts, showcasing products that do little to actually clean your pool but are amazing at costing you a small fortune in repair fees. This is disheartening especially since the whole point of pool cleaning products in this day and age is to make life easier for you.
But then some truly live up to the hype or, at the very least, do the job that they say they can do.
These are no-nonsense offerings that care about delivering quality day in, day out. These are the products you should be on the lookout for; products that are worth the hard-earned money you spent to get them.

Why Listen to Me?
I've been in and around swimming pools since before I could walk!
As a kid, I spent the summers at my grandpa's in the pool for what seems like 6-8 hours a day, and have had pools of my own for my entire adult lift.
I've used & tested DOZENS of Robotic Pool Cleaners the past 25 years as an adult, I know what to look for, and am here to share my experience with you!
I have reviewed a lot of glamorous pool cleaners on this site, a lot of high-tech machines with futuristic features. But some pool owners simply want the basics, a pool cleaner that does its job well without all the extra fluff.
These are valid desires and, for this review, we’ll see if the Polaris P39 is the pool cleaner that can fulfill it. Is it another cash grab designed to give you nothing but a headache, or is it truly the no-nonsense pool cleaner buyers have been yearning for. Read on to find out!
Polaris P39 Features
Let's go!
WideTrax Tires
Though many pool owners shopping today might prioritize things like suction power and fine filtration when shopping for a pool vacuum cleaner, the tires are an often overlooked feature that’s just as important.
Although suction and filter are important elements of cleaning, having a great set of wheels to go with your pool cleaner is important for several reasons.
For one, good wheels ensure the machine glides through the floor of the pool with ease.
It also is an important part of the cleaner’s ability to overcome different obstacles. You also don’t want a pool cleaner that’s always falling to its side whenever it hits a bump.
With WideTrax Tires, the Polaris P39 is given maximum maneuverability while still being durable to withstand hours underwater.
And by their very design, these tires won’t scratch or damage the surface of your pool like some pool cleaner models do.
All-Wheel PosiDrive System with Stainless Steel Chain
The power behind the wheels of this unit deserves a mention of its own. These innovative features mean the unit’s wheels deliver up to 50% more torque for a faster clean, better maneuverability, and fewer hang-ups.
As a person who’s tried and tested a lot of pool cleaner models, I can’t even count the times a bump or a wall turned the unit on its side, rendering it quite useless. So this is an essential feature that every pool cleaner should have if you ask me
Easy On All Types of Pool Surfaces. Just like not all pool cleaners are made equally, there are different pool types and each type comes with a specific set of cleaning demands.
Vinyl and tile, for example, are easy to clean but get covered in dirt and algae faster.
Concrete or gunite pools are relatively low maintenance but tend to collect debris and silt at the bottom more.
A lot of the dirt on these kinds of pools can also go unseen as they blend in with the color of the material.
As a pool owner, you need to be aware of the maintenance demands of your pool and use products that are versatile enough to meet them.
Luckily, the suction power and maneuverability of the Polaris P39 means it is a great fit no matter the pool type.
Extra-Large Filter Bag
If you’re a seasoned pool owner, you know why this is such a big deal. If you’re a newbie, then sit and listen to some words of wisdom on why having extra-large filter bags is a blessing.
There’s nothing as annoying and taxing on one’s patience as having to clean a full filter that you had just emptied out 30 minutes ago or less. You got a pool cleaner to make the job of pool cleaning more convenient yet you’re still hanging around the pool just as much as before.
By having an extra-large filter bag, the Polaris P39 reduces the time needed to fiddle with the unit by 50%-80%. This means you can just let the Polaris P39 do its thing as you go about more enjoyable activities.
Goes Through 40 Gallons of Water Per Minute
The Polaris P39 Pressure Side Pool Cleaner is designed to bring your pool the most power of any cleaner by supplementing the pool's filtration system by circulating an additional 40 gallons of water per minute through its dual-chamber zippered SuperBag to distribute cleaner, healthier water back into your pool.
This results in a more even temperature throughout the pool and brings you healthier pool water in less time. This means the unit has the secondary benefit of making the pool more energy-efficient overall.
Important: The Polaris P39 requires a booster pump, such as the PB4-60. Sadly, this essential element of the cleaner’s system is sold separately.
Polaris pressure pumps are specifically designed to operate your cleaner at optimum cleaning efficiency.
This added element, along with the unit’s compact, rugged design, allows for maximum performance.
If you want this machine to work at its fullest potential, then getting the booster pump is highly recommended.
According to the claims, this unit can get your pool clean in 3 hours or less. It’s important to note though that many other reviewers can back this claim up, praising the unit for sucking the dirt and debris out of their pool at record speeds.
The pool cleaner comes with a warranty but one should take note that the manufacturers’ warranties may not apply in all cases.
It does depend on factors such as the use of the product, where the product was purchased, or who you purchased the product from.
Please review the warranty carefully, and contact the manufacturer if you have any questions.
Polaris P39 Review & Final Verdict (4.5/5)
And that was our review of the Polaris P39 Pressure Side Pool Cleaner.
Though not a perfect unit by any stretch of the imagination, it’s still a great offering that deserves consideration. With all the duds and cash-grabs out there in the pool cleaning market, the Polaris P39 is one such unit that does the job it says it does and does it well.
Despite having to get a booster pump separately, we feel that the many robust features supported by this model definitely outweigh this minor setback.
The wheels of this unit are the stuff of legend and a large filter back with a high suction rate means faster cleaning times and more splashing fun for the whole family.
Plus, a competitive price point makes getting a booster pump along with the Polaris P39 not that big of an expense.
Though the choice remains yours to make, the Polaris P39 is a pool cleaner model we’d definitely recommend for purchase.
