A More Detailed Look
Here are some of the things we truly loved about the Polaris 9450
Believe it or not, not all robotic pool cleaners are 4-wheel drive, but they should be!
The wheels of the robotic vacuum cleaner have to be designed well for several reasons:
- Firstly, they have to allow the machine to scale the walls and clean the waterline of the pool with relative ease.
- Another reason is that poorly designed wheels decrease the mobility of the machine and prevent it from overcoming obstacles.
- Finally, the wheels are essentially what makes contact with the pool’s surface.
If they’re not well-made, you’re left with skid marks and scratches running all over the surface of your beautiful swimming pool.
Thanks to the 4-Wheel Drive Technology of the Polaris 9450 Sport, none of these things will be a problem.
The unit maneuvers seamlessly under the water as it cleans every nook and cranny.
What is 'vortex vacuum technology' you say? Well, In a nutshell, this feature means that the unit has an oversized suction intake that captures large debris and keeps it suspended in constant motion for long-lasting cleaning performance.
When paired with its pleated scrubbers, you have a robotic vacuum cleaner that can suck up anything from large leaves to small grains of sand with relative ease.
This powerful suction technology is also what facilitates its ability to scale and clean the pool’s walls.
Okay, I may be a bit excited here, but with good reason!
If you’ve ever had an old pool cleaner model, you would remember that there was a time that you had to physically press a button in the unit itself to get it to start. It would run for about 1-2 hours and automatically turn off.
If your pool wasn’t completely clean by then, you’d have to fish it out, empty the filter, and press the button again.
This is a problem you won't encounter with the Polaris 9450 Sport.
The unit sports a weekly scheduler that allows you to set the specific days when it will automatically turn on and begin a cleaning cycle.
Those who have used another pool cleaner will understand what I mean here.
Speaking of the cumbersome chore of fishing your robotic pool cleaner out of the water, the Polaris 9450 Sport has a built-in system that allows it to float up to you with just a push of a button.
All you have to do when you want to attend to the machine is steer it to the edge of the pool and press the button on the caddy.
This tells the Polaris 9450 Sport to eject all the water out of its system and float to the surface where you can pick it up.
It’s that simple!
The Polaris 9450 Sport comes with an easily assembled premium-designed caddy that allows you to wheel it around to where you want it to go.
This is an especially welcomed add on considering that the unit weighs in at about 44 pounds.
Though it’s not too heavy to carry, it might still be a turn-off for some people who aren’t into weight lifting.
The creators of the Polaris 9450 Sport obviously acknowledged this and added the caddy for good measure.
The caddy also sports all the buttons you need to control the unit from the surface.
The 9450 Sport has an all-purpose filter canister that has 4 times the capacity of other similar cleaners.
That means fewer filter cleanings (up to 70% less), and lower operating costs. If you ever had an extremely intelligent pool cleaner that sports an extremely small filter canister, then you know why this feature is such a blessing.
There’s nothing so annoying as receiving a notification on your phone that the filter you just cleaned 30 minutes ago needs to be emptied again.
The filter of the Polaris 9450 Sport is easily emptied with a simple shake and spray of water.
The unit also comes with a 60 ft. seemingly durable cable that also has a swivel that prevents tangling.
I have spent many, many hours of my life trying to detangle cords, hoses, and tubes. It’s not a fun thing to do and after a while, you start to wonder why no one has come up with an effective solution to this problem.
The cable of Polaris 9450 Sport is, I’m very happy to say, not prone to tangling. It can also be neatly spun around the back of the caddy as an easy storage solution.
The pool cleaner comes with a warranty but one should take note that the manufacturers’ warranties may not apply in all cases.
It really does depend on factors such as the use of the product, where the product was purchased, or who you purchased the product from.
Please review the warranty carefully, and contact the manufacturer if you have any questions.
Polaris 9450 Sport Review & Final Verdict (4.4/5)
And that was our review of the Polaris 9450 Sport. An amazing machine that is perfect for maintaining an amazing pool setup. The main reason to buy this machine is due to the premium features that go the extra mile inconvenience. On its ability to clean, there’s no question that the Polaris 9450 Sport can get your pool cleaned in no time.
If you're looking for something more simple and straightforward though, the Polaris 9450 Sport is great.
When all is said and done, a pool cleaner, robotic or otherwise, is only as good as you deem it to be.
For what it's worth though, we would definitely recommend the Polaris 9450 Sport for purchase to anyone looking for a top-of-the-line robotic pool vacuum cleaner.
