A More Detailed Look & Review
Robotic pool vacuum cleaners are innovative that no pool owner should be without.
Not only do they make pool maintenance more convenient, bearing the brunt of the cleaning job for the pool owner, but they’re also great investments that actually save you money in the long run.
When you have a robotic pool vacuum working in unison with the pool's innate cleaning system, the pool gets cleaner faster. Thus, you require less energy and time to maintain your pool.
At the same time, since robotic pool cleaners are so efficient at scrubbing up dirt, debris, and algae, you use fewer chemicals like chlorine to disinfect the water.
If you’re uncomfortable using chemicals to treat an area where the whole family splashes around, then a robotic pool cleaner might be just what you need to ensure you use as few chemicals as possible.
These are the very benefits that the Polaris 9650iQ Sport purports to have. Another offering by the famed pool vacuum manufacturer, the Polaris 9650iQ Sport has garnered rave reviews from pool owners all around the world.
This is quite impressive when considering how saturated the market is already.
Many who have purchased it talk about how robust, intelligent, and long-lasting the machine is compared to other brands or models.
I got my hands on the Polaris 965IQ Sport Robotic Pool Cleaner and used it for 30 days!
Is it right for you though?
Just because the people online profess to love it, doesn’t mean you will after all. Is it really the pool cleaner that’s made suction cleaning a thing of the past, or is it just another money-burning product that’s all bark and no bite.
In this review we’ll weigh in on its features and look at its pros and cons to see if it is worth the purchase.
poLaris 965iq sport Features:
High tech features for an already high-tech machine. The ability to control the unit remotely is a layer of convenience that cannot be understated.
There was a time when one had to fish the machine out with a long pole or jump into the pool yourself.
The Polaris 9650iQ Sport though is Wi-Fi enabled, meaning that once it’s connected to your home internet it can be controlled through the iAquaLink app on your phone.
It even gives you the ability to start the cleaner up when it’s in the pool by simply asking Alexa.
Through the app, or through the machine itself, you can set a time in the week when the cleaner automatically turns on and cleans the pool.
Another piece of innovation that buys you some extra me-time, so long as there’s room in the canister and it’s attached to a power source, the Polaris 9650iQ Sport will clean your pool at regular intervals whether you command it to or not.
ike other models of robotic pool cleaners released by Polaris, the Polaris 9650iQ Sport has what it likes to call Vortex Technology.
This patented feature goes the extra mile in cleaning.
Basically, it means that the unit has an oversized suction intake that captures large debris and keeps it suspended in constant motion for long-lasting cleaning performance.
Probably one of the only times you have to bother any pool cleaner is when it’s time to clean out its filter.
In most cases, you kind of has to use your best judgment and guess if the filter is full or not.
Oftentimes, pool owners notice that the device isn’t cleaning efficiently, leading them to check the filter.
Luckily, Both on the remote control and the machine itself, an indicator will appear when it’s time to take out and clean the extra large canister.
This might not seem like too much of a big deal but if you’ve had as many pool cleaners as I have, it is a pretty convenient function to have.
This is not a lightweight unit by any stretch of the imagination. At almost 45 pounds, you’re gonna need some serious elbow grease and muscle strength to get this unit out from the garage or storage and into your pool.
It’s a good thing that the creators realized this and decided to include a premium-designed easy-assembled caddy to go with it.
This caddy is probably one of my favorite parts of the Polaris 9650iQ Sport as it makes transport and control of this beast of a unit so much easier.
Without it, I might not have been so enthusiastic to get it.
Another great feature that seems somewhat unit to Polaris models is their sporting of 4-Wheel Drive Technology.
Unlike other means of movement, this allows the Polaris 9650iQ Sport to climb over obstacles and avoid getting stuck.
When paired with its intelligent mapping sensor that scans the layout of your pool, there’s basically no cleaning job this machine can’t handle.
Now, with the features being listed, let's take a look at the pros & cons of the 9650IQ Sport.
Review & Final Verdict (4.5/5)
That concludes my Polaris 9650iQ Sport review. I've listed and discussed all of the features, as well as weighed in on each of its advantages and drawbacks.
My conclusion: buy it! It's a great machine that will make your life much easier.
When all is said and done, despite not being the most perfect pool cleaner ever made, the Polaris 9650iQ Sport is still one of the best robotic pool vacuum cleaners you can get on the market today.
