Thanks for Stopping by to Check out Our Zodiac MX6 Review!
As temperatures soar, the thought of lounging in a nice cool pool just sounds so freaking... wonderful!
This feeling can quickly turn into disgust if the pool is dirty with murky water.
Pool cleaning services are expensive and a bit in-your-face with their endless endeavors to get you to sign long term contracts. Most good cleaning bots are not exactly cheap too, with several models pushing and even crossing the 4-digit price tag.
The Zodiac MX6 though, belongs to an elusive range of robotic pool cleaners that are able to strike the perfect balance between price and performance. If you want an automatic suction bot for an in/above-ground pool that’s also easy to use, few other models can match the Zodiac MX6.
So yes, without beating about the bush, we’re just going to go ahead and say that this is a neat piece of equipment at a very reasonable price tag. Let's explore some of it’s features and capabilities in a bit more detail.
Zodiac MX6 Features:
- Compact dimensions with powerful suction cleaning. Weighs just 17.5 pounds. The body is manufacturing using high grade plastic which adds strength without adding weight. Does not feel tacky at all.
- The Zodiac MX6 Baracuda has best-in-class vacuum power. At the end of the day, only one thing matters – does the pool cleaner have enough grunt to take on stubborn stains? This one sure does!
- A pool cleaner that does not climb walls is not really a pool cleaner! What’s the point of investing money and energy in a machine that does not do the job fully. That’s like buying a car that can only go on level roads and just switches off at the sight of a hill! Thanks to a flex-power articulating turbine blade, this Baracuda climbs walls as well as a gecko. Works without any problem on low-flow pumps too.
- The bot uses a cyclonic suction mechanism to loosen dirt and stains. Eliminates rocks, leaves, algae, acorns, pebbles and almost all other types of debris.
- The MX6 is fitted with advanced X-Drive navigation so that it can access and clean the bottom, walls and even the waterline. Let's face it, All this power and wall climbing ability is totally useless if the bot does not have a good navigation system. The bot has a very clever way of getting out of corners and tight spaces – instead of reversing, it side stops and it just spins to take a U-turn. This increases coverage and ensures that no spots are left behind.
- The tank like ‘X-trax’ provide ample traction even on vertical surfaces.
- The innovative low-flow design is a salient feature of this device. This makes the MX6 more or less perfect for 2-speed or variable speed pumps.

The MX6 in Action!
Zodiac MX6 Review & Final Verdict:
Honestly, I don't have anything really bad to say. The Zodiac MX6 is well-put together, energy efficient and comes with best in class vacuum power.
A few of my favorite things:
- It's VERY easy on the pocketbook
- Easy to use
- Low on maintenance
- It cleans walls & even the steps!
Zodiac is a pretty reliable name in robotic pool cleaner circles and the 1 year warranty does have you covered in case of a problem.
Yes, the bot lacks a couple of advanced features but at this price, nobody’s really complaining. (Seriously, read the reviews on Amazon, people LOVE this thing!)
We recommend this versatile, honest little cleaner for those who want a clean pool without hurting the wallet too much.
